I Can’t Get Started (#5) - Música de Vernon Duke e Letra de Ira Gershwin 

“I Can’t Get Started” foi apresentada pela primeira vez por Bob Hope, que a cantou para Eve Arden nas “Ziegfeld Follies” em 1936. Estreando-se a 30 de Janeiro de 1936, no teatro “Winter Garden”, a revista da Broadway durou 115 espectáculos.

Em menos de um mês, Hal Kemp e a sua orquestra, com o vocalista Skinnay Ennis, viram o seu sucesso “I Can’t Get Started” subir ao 14º. Lugar das tabelas. Em 1938, a orquestra de Bunny Berigan  tendo de novo, Skinnay Ennis como vocalista, chegou ao 10º. Lugar.

Sammy Davies Jr. (Harlem, New York, 08-12-1925 – Beverly Hills, California, 16-05-1990) – Provavelmente a sua última actuação em TV, entre 9 e 16 de Junho de 1989, no programa ao vivo “Late Night” de David Letterman.
