They Can't Take That Away from Me (#88) - Música de George Gershwin e Letra de Ira Gershwin
Infelizmente ele não viveu para ver a conclusão de “The Goldwyn Follies” (1938), para o qual “show”, ele havia escrito duas canções de sucesso, "Love is Here to Stay" e "Love Walked In". Somando a entrega total de Astaire em “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”, ainda estavam incluídas “Shall We Dance”, “(I’ve Got) Beginners Luck”, “They All Laughed”, e “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off”, as quais foram todas grandes sucessos de venda de Fred Astaire.

The way you wear your hat
The way you sip your tea
The memory of all that
No, no, they can't take that away from me
The way your smile just beams
The way you sing off-key
The way you haunt my dreams
No, no, they can't take that away from me
We may never, never meet again
On that bumpy road to love
Still I'll always, always keep the memory of...
The way you hold your knife
The way we danced till three
The way you've changed my life
No, no, they can't take that away from me
No, they can't take that away from me

Letra (versão de Jane Monheit & John Pizzarelli)

Our romance won’t end on a sorrowful note
Though by tomorrow you’re gone
The song is ended but is the song right to wrote
The melody lingers on
They may take you from me
I miss your found caress
But though they take you from me
I still possess
The way you wear your hat
The way you sip your tea
The memory of all that
No, no, they can't take that away from me
The way your smile just beams
The way you sing off-key
The way you haunt my dreams
No, no, they can't take that away from me
We may never, never meet again
On the bumpy road to love
Still I'll always, always keep the memory of...
The way you hold your knife

The way you've changed my life
No, no, they can't take that away from me
No, they can't take that away from me
